KÖMMERLING Chemische Fabrik GmbH announces Koedispace 4SG, a new Warm Edge System specially designed for gas filled Silicone Insulating Glass units
KÖMMERLING Chemische Fabrik, a leading supplier of sealants and adhesives for the insulating glass - structural glazing - and glazing market, announced today the introduction of a new Thermo Plastic Spacer. Koedispace 4SG, is designed to meet the stringent demands of the structural glazing market and meets specifically the gas tightness in combination with silicones according to the EN 1279 part 3 confirmed by the ift in Rosenheim. Now KÖMMERLING Chemische Fabrik GmbH provides the complete product range for structural glazing together with GD 920 and Koediglaze S. Both silicones fulfill the requirements of the ETAG 002 which is confirmed in the ETA-08/0004 and 08/0286.

Ernst Semar, head of product management for KÖMMERLING, explained; "Koedispace 4SG is the latest addition to our range of proven products. It provides both a physical bond and a chemical adhesion that is ideally suited for applications on the facades of buildings where the glass is an integral part of the structure. Its new formulation also makes it more robust and resilient to the extremes of high temperature found in areas such as the Gulf States, where some of the most architecturally challenging glass structures are currently under construction."

Ramapo and KommerlingJens Wolthaus, technical service manager for PIB based products for KÖMMERLING, added: "We believe that Koedispace 4SG is the best warm edge solution for the production of gas filled silicone IG units. Using this product in conjunction with the latest automatic application processes not only reduces the chances of manual failure but helps manufacturers to produce high grade IG units that fulfill the highest requirements of modern low energy buildings."

More information on Koedispace 4SG and other products in the KÖMMERLING range can be located on the company's web site www.koe-chemie.com

GLASSBUILD EXHIBITION SURPRISES ALL
Exceeding even the rosiest of expectations, Ramapo's stand at the Las Vegas exhibition was a rousing success.  There was constant activity and knowledgeable Ramapo staff to address the questions and interests of the attendees.  A video played on a flat panel monitor showing the stages of production at the largest spacer manufacturing plant in the world, Profilglass.  On display were both the extensive line of Profilglass insulating glass spacers and decorative components and the Chemsource insulating glass molecular sieves (desiccant).  Both of these products have become the clear choice for both automated and manual operations looking for the top quality products and service level that has come to define Ramapo's success.  The show was an excellent chance for Ramapo to introduce our new Western Regional Manager, Richard "Mac" McIntyre, and also the new warehouses in Seattle, WA and Chino, CA.  With these locations added to current warehousing in Dallas, TX, Schofield, WI, Clifton, NJ and the main office and hub in Charleston, SC, Ramapo brings complete coverage from coast to coast to service our ever growing customer base.

Ramapo Sales and Marketing, previously headquartered in Fairfield, N.J., has relocated its headquarters to North Charleston, S.C. According to Jason Douglas, general manager, a service center has been opened in Clifton, N.J., so that service to customers in the Northeast will not be disrupted.

“Moving was necessitated by a tremendous expansion in our customer base. This precipitated a need to increase the number of our distribution points,” said Douglas. “Charleston was chosen for our headquarters because it is a major commercial city, offering superior land transportation and seaport support.”

Douglas continued, “Several of our suppliers are European firms, so an efficient seaport city is necessary to meet the ever-growing demands of our U.S. customers.”

The company’s North Charleston facility has more than 25,000 square feet of warehouse space, and will eventually include manufacturing as well as a full inventory of window and insulating glass supplies.
